Nickname: Eagle Man! (His superhero alterego)
Birthday: April 30
Grade: Collège 2

Though his favorite color is blue, Widley is a happy-go-lucky aspiring actor, singer, and pianist. When he’s not singing in the Mission yard, he enjoys playing soccer like his favorite Real Madrid player James Rodriguez. His favorite subjects are math and science because math is “important in all subjects” and science “helps him learn about what is around us!” Indeed, science plays a big role in the life of this “nature boy,” as he loves to garden and learn about self-sustainable agriculture. And as if you needed further proof of his free spirit, Widley’s favorite animal is the eagle (call him by his nickname, the “Eagle Man!”). Widley admires Mr. Mitch for his intelligence and “good heart” and “The Rock” for his acting chops (minus the tattoos!). In the 2016 English Spelling Bee, Widley tied for first place with JJ and Djouna. Yet 2017 proved to be his year: in the French Spelling Bee, Widley came in first place for level 5 and was the Sr. winner in the English Spelling Bee.

Widley’s father was killed during the earthquake, when a house collapsed on him. He arrived at our mission with some health issues that were quickly treated. Widley makes your heart proud.
