Nickname: Manno
Manno is a beloved role model around the Mission, especially for the younger children. Equal parts spiritual and studious, Manno hopes to become a pediatrician one day to care for children. He graduated from Madonna University in Michigan in 2022, and is currently studying for his MCAT exams. When he’s not studying, Manno enjoys music and sports.
Nickname: Moses
Moïse is a shy, tall jokester. But even as a young man, he is already driven to change Haiti for the better. With the power to improve the country, his agenda would include to help create jobs, build schools to educate the public, promote agricultural and ecological awareness, eliminate crime, and clean up Haiti’s streets. With his remarkable ambition and love of math, we hope this future accountant will be able to crunch the numbers and bring his dream of helping Haiti a reality. He’s a huge soccer fan and is responsible for starting the first Have Faith Haiti Soccer Tournament in 2013, which is now an annual event. He’s currently working in Haiti.
Nickname: Sam
Siem is stocky and always laughing, and was often responsible for the sound of laughter throughout the Mission, whether it’s his own or the staff’s from the jokes he tells. He considers Mr. Mitch his role model because he you can tell he is a “person you can count on” for the way he is providing an education and shelter for children in need. He is currently enrolled in Madonna University in Michigan.
A special needs member of the Mission family, Charlotte is considerate, generous, and sweet-tempered, as she always eager to run errands with the staff and help taking care of the children at the Mission. If she not with the nannies washing clothes or assisting Miss Lorraine in the kitchen making rice and vegetables (her favorite!), Charlotte is reading to the younger kids. She enjoys reading Oprah and Bon Appetit magazines, as well as watching any and all versions of Cinderella in her spare time. A devout Christian, Charlotte’s favorite part of the week is Sunday when she goes to Church.
